VOLKSMARCH
Volksmarching originated in Germany as a way to appreciate the beauty of nature and to promote good health. It is usually a leisurely walk routed through scenic or historic areas and, in Germany, is set up in 10 and 20 kilometer lengths. Translated into English. "Volksmarch" means, "People’s Walk". You are invited to join the Redstone Arsenal community on this walk through nature.

TRAIL RATING

Wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs will encounter difficulty crossing small streams, depressions , and ditches. Parents should understand that they may have to carry children at certain points on this trail. Wheelchairs are not recommended

The 10K Volksmarch is rated as a "4" Trail. It is NOT suitable for wagons, strollers, wheelchairs, or for those that do not consider themselves "strong walkers". Steep grades and stretches of gently rolling paths across a forested mountain mark this event. One portion of this trail is a steep path up the mountain’s firebreak. While this trail contains steep grades, the path is not vertical and at no time will it involve climbing.
